Job Description

You will join as an Assistant Adviser to support the operational and technical functions within the Bovine TB Delivery Unit to deliver the NFU's strategic aim of eradicating Bovine TB.

Assistant Adviser (Bovine TB Delivery) Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Technical Manager, your main role will be in assisting them and the Operations Manager in organising and coordinating training as well as collating and processing data and information to assist companies in applications for wildlife control. This will also including arranging and supporting meetings as well as providing an advisory resource to farmers working towards national TB licensing and trading rules.

Assistant Adviser (Bovine TB Delivery) Requirements:

Are you a pro-active individual with strong organisational skills, who is good with detail and enjoys working within the farming community? We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and has the ability to work accurately and to tight deadlines.

To be successful in this role you must be a positive and responsible individual, quickly able to adapt your working styles to support your team. You will also have the ability to synthesise and communicate technical and complex information for a non-technical audience.

You will have an academic background in agriculture and a practical understanding of UK livestock farming systems. Ideally you will have experience of working in a similar professional environment to the NFU.

Location: Wellington, Somerset TA21

Job type: Full time, 2 years Fixed Term Contract; 35 hours per week

Salary: circa of £22,600.67 per annum
