As a General Foreman you will carry out spot dimensional checking of works, bringing any discrepancies to the Works Manager attention. Stop works that are not being carried out safely or to the correct standard - issuing NCR's for works that are not compliant. Work with the Works Manager to inspect sub-contractors work and sign it off when it is to an acceptable standard. Assist with the waste removal and the policing of the waste being put into the appropriate waste skips. Assist the Works Manager with the weekly safety inspections and collects weekly inspection sheets from the sub-contractors. Work closely with the Engineering Team and review all drawings and details on an ongoing basis. Understand and manage an element of the attendances/prelims You will manage a number of Trainee Foremen/Assistant Supervisors and Operatives, assist with co-ordination of the site logistics and the co-ordination and distribution of materials to the various work fronts - making sub-contractors aware of site hazards e.g. shallow drains, overhead cables and suspended slab weight restrictions. You will advise Assistant Site Managers of plant and material requirements in good time to suit the programme and identify when small plant and equipment is no longer required and with agreement with the Works Manager off hires plant. As a General Foreman you will carry out spot dimensional checking of works, bringing any discrepancies to the Works Manager attention. Stop works that are not being carried out safely or to the correct standard - issuing NCR's for works that are not compliant. Work with the Works Manager to inspect sub-contractors work and sign it off when it is to an acceptable standard. Assist with the waste removal and the policing of the waste being put into the appropriate waste skips.
