Reference No: 471 Hours: Relief night shifts on zero hour contract (also known as sessional, bank, casual work) Pay: £10.26 per hour plus paid holiday accrual on top Closing Date: 25th September 2022 Like working nights? Do you want to pick up shifts that fit your schedule? We are CCP, an independent charity of around 250 staff and 100 volunteers across multiple counties and our purpose is to prevent the causes and reduce the effects of homelessness, family breakdown and exclusion. Our Sessional Night Housing Workers (Internally known as Building Supervisors) step in, sometimes last minute to help cover our night shifts within our buildings which provide 24-hour accommodation and housing support for young people and vulnerable adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Stroud, Gloucestershire. If you want to pick up more hours there will also be shifts available in Cheltenham and Yate. Our sessional staff love working on a casual basis, picking up shifts to suit their lifestyle. Many of our bank relief support staff do progress to become permanent, so there would be future opportunities for you. Your focus will be to ensure that our buildings are safe and secure overnight for our residents who live there. You'll need to stay awake, to be available as a point of contact for residents at any time during the night ensuring the home is safe and secure. A key function is to undertake health and safety checks and walk arounds throughout your shift. You will need to adopt sound judgement to either resolve situations yourself, seeking support from peers and emergency services if needed. Demonstrating empathy and patience towards our residents is essential. There will be tailored, specific training that will help you advance through a training pathway and progress your career at CCP. Our close-knit teams of Building Supervisors, Support Workers, and Project Managers deliver their support over a rota pattern.
