As the Mental Health Act and Medical Secretary you will work as part of the administration team at a 23-bed rehabilitation service, set across two wards, that offers specialist care designed to support women who have a diagnosis of a Personality Disorder (PD) or an Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD). You will work 37.5 hours a week ensuring the department upholds a confidential and efficient service in accordance with the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended November 2007). You will be responsible for managing and analysing Mental Health Act correspondence and documentation, this includes undertaking assessment requests, transfer of authority, consent to treatments, renewals of detention, consent to treatments and arranging hearings, tribunals and appeals. You will also liaise with clinicians, allied professionals, service users, their families, legal representatives and official agencies, receiving and responding to enquiries and requests for information in accordance with company policy, service level agreements and statutory regulations. As the Medical Secretary, you will work alongside the Registered Clinicians assisting with confidential paperwork, service users records and GP letters. You will liaise with external agencies to get up-to-date information on service users and GP letters.
