We are expanding our Finance team and looking to recruit a Finance Analyst to help support our commercial finance teams. This role will see you join an established and high performing team that has nearly doubled in size over the last couple of years. Key responsibilities: • Responsible for the preparation of month end accruals and prepayments. • Prepare monthly revenue and/or cost reviews with analysis of key drivers for variances, commentary and challenges to the business. • Develop regular performance reporting for various internal stakeholder groups to gain insight into to what is successful to inform future activity and forecasts. • Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts and the longer term business model. • Provide Financial and Commercial Support to the business within a fast moving and very competitive industry sector. • Undertaking ad hoc commercial project work, liaising with many different areas of the business and, where appropriate, presenting findings back to the management group. • Working with external auditors relating to audit queries. • Maintenance of balance sheet reconciliations and submissions. What skills you'll need… As a Finance Analyst you will be a part-qualified or fully qualified accountant through a recognised professional body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc) with experience of management accounting, reporting and forecasting. About Economic and Financial Consulting: FTI Consulting's Economic & Financial Consulting practice is a team of around 150 economists, accountants and finance experts. We draw on a diverse set of skills to answer a wide range of economic and financial questions for international law firms, global conglomerates and FTSE 100 companies, governments and regulators, often in the context of legal disputes. We have particular expertise in valuation of businesses, intellectual property, complex financial products, and other assets. We are the leading firm in the provision of expert evidence on valuation issues before courts and tribunals all around the world and we also perform valuations in a variety of non-dispute contexts (for instance, restructuring, financial reporting, IP licencing). We also specialise in providing economic advice to participants governments, regulators, companies and investors on economic regulation across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. We apply economic theory in a highly practical way to offer economic advice to both regulators and regulated companies on a wide range of issues. Examples of our recent work Example Project - The effect of regulatory changes in the solar power industry: We were engaged by a number of investors in solar power plants to assess the impact of and economic justification of changes to regulatory regimes along with the corresponding impact on the value of the investments. Examples of other recent projects include: Modelling the earning potential and case for subsidising rural broadband networks in Europe Advising on the fair distribution of royalties from streaming services to artists Valuation of a collection of airports in South Africa Conducting an event study to determine the effect of the release of new information on share price of a European bank Assessing the fair price for European countries to pay for natural gas given fundamental changes in the gas market Advising the board of a brokerage firm on how best to efficiently close various financial positions Your role and what we offer You will have the opportunity to apply your intellect and analytical skills to challenging economic, financial and business issues across many different industries. Our interns will have the opportunity to experience a variety of different projects across a variety of industries. Who we are looking for: We are looking for numerate, analytical and inquisitive team players from any degree subject who are able to think independently and creatively. Candidates must be on track to achieve a minimum of a 2:1 degree and must be able to demonstrate their quantitative skills. We will only consider applications which include both a Cover Letter explaining your motivation to work in the Economic & Financial Consulting practice at FTI Consulting and a CV that includes your academic performance at university and the results of your A-level or equivalent qualifications.
