Cosmetic / Smart Repair Technician - Preston Basic - 30,600 OTE - 34,200 + Monday - Thursday 8.30am - 5.00pm. Friday - 8:30am - 4.00pm. Working from our clients prep centre based in Preston where all their cars are prepared both mechanically and cosmetically for sale. The cosmetic repair technician will be required to train in paintless dent removal, prepare car panels and alloy wheels for repair and then carry out the paint and finish to a high standard. Existing cosmetic/body shop experience essential. Experience in paintless dent removal would be good but not essential as training will be given. Key responsibilities: To carry out paint and minor panel rectification in a safe and efficient manner to both retail customers and company vehicles in a time efficient manor to aid the 5-day preparation goal. Vehicle Protection: Ensure all company and customer vehicles are fully protected using seat covers, floor mats and appropriate wraps prior to any work commencing. Safe storage of all displaced vehicle parts. This role covers a variety of tasks and responsibilities and you will play a crucial part in the daily operations expansion of the site. You will be required to manage all on site operations, including arranging courier deliveries and collections and also be trained up on fitting replacement tracks and undercarriage systems to agricultural vehicles and machinery . The candidate is expected to maintain the highest levels of health and safety practice including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment where applicable . Responsibilities: General Site Operations: Organising stock using forklift counter balance or teleporter ( an advantage but full training will be given ) to assist - Loading & Unloading, Palletising. Experience working in SMART repairs or in similar body shops roles. Paint spraying. ? Prior knowledge and understanding of Smart Repairs and paint repair techniques and body shop repair methods ? Min 3 years Paint/Smart experience (Preferably ATA/IMI/ and working to PAS 125 formats) ? Good knowledge and application of fillers. ? Able to paint a min of 2 vertical panels and blend ? Great attention to detail, noticing patterns and managing to deal with issues before they get out of control. ? Build strong relationships with co-workers and franchise owners ?
