Sole Gardener Job
Greycoat Lumley's client require a Sole Gardener for a 5 acre private garden in Lanarkshire. The qualified Gardener must be reliable and enthusiastic USPs
The Gardener will maintain and further develop the garden and grounds. They will take great pride in maintaining an attractive and tidy garden. Applicants will have practical experience in the maintenance of gardens, lawns, shrubs and woodland facilities including the operation of grounds maintenance equipment and a clean driving licence.
They will have a sound knowledge of plants, bushes and trees with an understanding of soil requirements; proficiency in the operation of garden machinery with an understanding and ability to support the implementation of relevant policies including Health and Safety and COSHH.
Responsible for:
  • The care and maintenance of the garden/property including weeding, planting, pruning, watering, clearance of leaves/snow in the Autumn/Winter and minor repairs when appropriate.
  • The use and care of the garden machinery, tools, ladders, steps etc. with due regard to Health and Safety requirements
  • Care and security of the property in the residents' absence
  • Care of three cars
The successful applicant should be a good communicator, self-disciplined and happy to work on their own initiative to improve the garden and enhance the garden appearance overall.
A flexible approach is expected to fit in with family requirements.
The role requires Certificates for handling and applying weed killer, use of chainsaw and garden machinery; training available as required.
At appropriate times during the year there will be a requirement to carry out ground and vegetation maintenance at other locations. A vehicle will be supplied to carry out these duties.
Sound references would be an advantage.
This Company has a number of staff who have been employed in excess of 30 years.
Start Date:ASAP
Hours:Full-time 40 hours per week
Monday to Friday.
Salary:£20,000 - £25,000 Depending on skills and experience
Accommodation:2 bedroom Detached lodge house is provided.
