The Shift Engineer will work as part of Engineering Team and will be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance work and repairs to production plant, equipment and buildings, to ensure safety and reliability of the production process. The successful candidate will have excellent thorough and detailed approach to maintenance work with great literate and numerical skills. They will have worked in a similar Engineering position, where they would have gained experience in diagnosing faults and taking corrective action. To be successful in this this role, they will also have knowledge in plant maintenance work and systems and be able to work as part of a team where excellent communication skills are essential. This is a great opportunity for someone to gain experience in leading the bakery CI projects and to gain development of knowledge and familiarity with the engineering requirements of the bakery process systems and machinery. They'll work closely with a friendly and engaging team from both a site and group perspective, offering opportunities for growth and long-term career development. This is what you'll actually do! As the Shift Engineer you will work as an active part of a skilled cross functional planned maintenance team and ensure correct Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene standards are adhered to at all times. You will ensure a fast and effective response especially under breakdown conditions. You will also and be able to assist and support mechanical engineers with their duties and assist in the training of fellow maintenance engineers, Production Operatives and others where necessary. You will actively participate in a Continuous Improvement culture throughout the site, constantly identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce waste. You will have positive outlook to ensure good working practices are adhered to throughout and that planned maintenance work is completed to strict schedules with attention to detail. You will also work on various projects including installation and modifications to plant and equipment with constantly looking for improvements of reliability of equipment. Ideally this is you!
