The successful candidate will be working within a team of eight engineers responsible for providing technical escalation support for the GSM-R 2G based network this consists of base station subsystem (BSS) which includes 10 base station controller (BSC) and over 2800 Base Transceivers station (BTS) as well as the Network Switching Subsystem (NSS) and supporting Operate and Support System.
The core equipment is located at Stoke on Trent with provision of a reference laboratory and Didcot to provide business continuity. The teams core activities include operations and maintenance to improve the service availability and reliability. Support introduction of new technologies and service work closely with our design and engineering team, and supporting the validation process through our reference laboratory. Providing 24/7 on call support for escalation via our Network Management Centre (NMC) and first line on the NSS elements.

What will you be doing?
